Privacy policy
Last updated August 6, 2026
This policy explains what information Kawkus collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses the platform — attendees, authors, reviewers, and organizers.
Information we collect
Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) when you sign up.
Profile and interest data: optional fields of interest you select, used to match you with relevant call-for- papers announcements, and your organization if you create or join one.
Submission and review content: manuscripts, abstracts, author lists, review scores, comments, discussion threads, and decisions, tied to the conferences you participate in.
Payment information: if you pay an entry fee or support a conference, payment is processed directly by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, not your card details — those never touch our servers.
Usage data: basic technical data (like session cookies used to keep you signed in) needed to operate the platform.
How we use it
We use your information to operate the platform: creating and authenticating your account, running submission and peer-review workflows, generating the program and agenda, processing payments through Stripe Connect, sending transactional emails (password resets, review assignments, decision notifications), and matching you with CFP announcements if you've opted into fields of interest.
We don't sell your personal information to third parties.
Who can see what
Submission content is visible to the conference's organizers, the chairs and reviewers assigned to it, and — for accepted papers — the public program once it's published. Review comments are visible to the organizing committee and, where a conference enables rebuttals, to the submission's authors. Reviewer identities are handled per each conference's own review policy.
Data retention
We keep your account and submission data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us — see below.
Your choices
You can update your name, organization, and fields of interest at any time from your profile. To request a copy of your data, or to have your account deleted, get in touch using the contact page.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
